'But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to all the ends of the earth.' [Acts 1:8 NIV]
The Mission and Outreach Team was formed with the follow Mission Statement:
LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, THE MISSION AND OUTREACH TEAM IS COMMITTED
TO SHARING THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST WITH THOSE WHO ARE IN NEED
OF MATERIAL AND SPIRITUAL NOURISHMENT IN OUR CHURCH,
OUR COMMUNITY, AND THE WORLD THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS OF SUPPORT AND COMMUNICATION.
Over the past few years this team has led the congregation in several local efforts to spread Christ's ministry of love.
Provide our congregation with information about opportunities to serve and spread God's love. Using our new Mission & Outreach Bulletin Board in the Narthax, various mission trips and service opportunities will be posted.
Support the global mission program of the Reformed Church in America, and we continue to do so through donations to its Mission of the Month program and to denominational outreach through a partnership in a missionary's overseas efforts. Our new missionaries for 2012 are Rawee and Julakun Bunupuradah, serving in Thailand where only 1% of the population is Christian.
Support and volunteer at the CUP (Churches United for People) Food Pantry. The Pantry has moved to our Annex this year.
Gather donations for baby shower baskets for military families.
Provide a movie night out for local family in need.
Open our church doors to civic groups and groups supporting addiction recovery programs.
A donation effort geared to helping military veterans with toiletries and other necessities for two different areas of need.
A school supplies/backpack donation project in the summer to help local children in need be ready to go 'back to school'.
Adopt A Soldier - encourage and support, through letters and care packages, a local serviceman deployed to Afghanistan.
If your heart and mind leads you towards mission and you want to help
or know of people in need of support and prayers of our congregation, please join us.
You are always welcome
'Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.' Hebrews 13:16
